What can be donated

We gladly accept donations of good quality furniture, electricals, bric-a-brac and other items in a suitable condition to sell on or to help those in need. Despite having a new and much larger warehouse we are limited in the number of items we can accept.

Please drop off any items from the list below at our Warehouse in Blatchford Road (map here) between 10:00 – 15:00 Tuesday to Saturday

Any items simply dropped at the premises outside of our opening hours cannot be accepted under any circumstances.

Horsham Matters Accepts

Furniture

  • Good Quality upholstered furniture (with fire retardant labelling)
  • Undamaged wooden furniture
  • Quality office furniture
  • Flat-pack furniture in (excellent condition)
  • Vintage and Antique furniture
  • Beds (very good condition, with fire retardant labelling)
  • Mattresses (ONLY immaculate condition, with fire retardant labelling)

Electricals

  • Quality electrical equipment in working order
  • Computer equipment (ONLY in working order from XP onwards)
  • Flat screen monitors
  • LCD and Plasma TVs (old style CRT TV's – call first as demand is limited) must include remotes
  • Modern vacuum cleaners
  • Lamps
  • Hi-fi’s (no stand-alone tape players or record players)

Kid's Stuff

  • Quality soft toys (unsoiled and in mint condition)
  • Kids toys and equipment undamaged in mint condition and complete
  • Cots, Beds and Bunk Beds (only if complete)
  • Push-chairs, buggies and baby seats (ONLY if not been in an accident)
  • Games and Puzzles (ONLY complete and if in good condition with instructions)

Kitchen Ware

  • Working fridges, freezers and electric cookersc
  • Quality clean kitchen devices
  • Kitchen Stoneware
  • Fine china Sets
  • Complete glassware sets

Miscellaneous

  • Ornaments if undamaged and likely to sell
  • CDs, DVDs, Blue-Ray DVDs
  • Brassware
  • Any glass larger than 21cm x 30cm (ONLY toughened or laminated, this is usually indicated by a BS kite mark or reference number)
  • Ceramics

Gardening Items

  • Wooden garden furniture in good condition
  • Plastic garden furniture in good condition
  • Working lawn mowers, shredders, blowers, trimmers and strimmers
  • Small hand tools
  • Good quality Gazebos
  • Stone/ceramic plants pots ONLY

Linens, Carpets & Rugs

  • Large clean carpet offcuts
  • Rugs
  • Linens

Horsham Matters Are Unable To Accept

We are sorry but Horsham Matters cannot currently accept the following items:

Furniture

  • Mattresses (unless immaculate)
  • Beds (unless v good frames)
  • Damaged wooden furniture (e.g. chipped, badly scratched or broken)
  • Upholstered furniture without fire retardant labelling (unless antique)
  • Soiled or damaged upholstered furniture
  • Old lamps and lampshades
  • Old fashioned furniture of any type unless antique
  • Seventies & Eighties style wall units or sideboards

Electricals

  • CRT TVs, screens or portables without remotes
  • Dial-up Modems
  • Any electrical item that does not fully work
  • Old vacuum cleaners
  • Stand alone cassette tape players and record players
  • Any electrical item that should have a missing remote control

Miscellaneous

  • Any un-toughened or laminated glass larger than 21cm x 30cm
  • Damaged ornaments
  • Damaged books
  • Protective helmets, bike, motorcycle, riding, that have been dropped or in an
  • Gas Equipment (except cookers and mobile heaters)
  • Video tapes (Unless rare/collectable)

Kids’ Stuff

  • Old-style Prams (unless Silver Cross)
  • Games and Puzzles where the box is in bad condition or there are no instructions
